In 2017, the D Jones Family Charitable Foundation made a grant to Canine Companions for Independence for the breeding, rearing and training of a service dog. In honor of the donation, the Foundation was able to choose the name of the puppy to be trained. The family voted and, ultimately, selected the name “Cole” in honor of the road on which a treasured Jones’ family home was located.
