In 2017, the D Jones Family Charitable Foundation gave a grant to The Ounce of Prevention Fund, based in Chicago. Since 1982, according to its website, Ounce has pursued the goal of helping to provide all children living in America—particularly those born into poverty—with quality early childhood experiences in the crucial first five years of life. Ounce’s work is anchored in a growing body of scientific evidence about early brain development. This year’s grant will be used towards science-based, innovative programs, implementation and replication.
