In 2018, the D. Jones Family Charitable Foundation continued its support of the Chicago-based The Ounce of Prevention Fund through a grant earmarked for program development and educational materials.
Since 1982, according to its website, Ounce has pursued the goal of helping to provide all children living in America—particularly those born into poverty—with quality early childhood experiences in the crucial first five years of life. Ounce’s work is anchored in a growing body of scientific evidence about early brain development. This year’s grant will be used towards science-based, innovative programs, implementation and replication.
