In 2018, the D Jones Family Charitable Foundation continued its support of the children of Uganda through its ongoing commitment to the Hearts & Hope for Uganda organization. In 2015, the foundation provided construction materials and furnishings for a new school and, in 2016, its funds helped to purchase land in order to install a clean-water well in the village of Namwendwa. In 2017, its grant supported first-aid kits, hand-washing stations, textbooks and a youth conference for six sponsored primary schools which serve over 1,000 children. This year’s grant will support the establishment of libraries within Hearts & Hope supported schools in Uganda.
