In 2021, The D Jones Family Charitable Foundation continued its support of cancer research with a gift to the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Winship is Georgia’s only national cancer institute-designated comprehensive cancer center and serves as the coordinating center for cancer research, education and care throughout Emory University. The foundation’s gift supports Winship’s Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics Research Program which aims to facilitate molecular target-based cancer drug discovery, biomedical technology and clinical trials for therapeutic development.

Members of the Discovery and Developmental program work collaboratively on the next generation of anti-cancer innovations and help move these advances from the lab to the clinic. The program includes basic scientists who identify new anti-cancer targets, translational researchers who refine these discoveries for clinical application, and physicians who treat patients with promising new cancer therapies and techniques.
